Kate McClafferty is distinctly her own woman. Born and bred in Los Angeles, she grew up in the multi-cultural city she calls home, learning to respect the differences amongst people. She truly listens to what people have to say, and asks the insightful questions. Coupled with her great sense of humor, Kate's hosting talents are something to be admired. Wherever she goes, Kate enjoys people and that's what ultimately led her to her choice of vocations.
When she landed two movie roles in one year, Joanna in Must Love Dogs directed by Gary David Goldberg, and Jennifer Aniston's scene-stealing bridesmaid in Rumor Has It directed by Rob Reiner, she thought she had found her calling. That was until she was hired to co-Host LTN's Nightguide, and she quickly discovered she would much rather be herself in front of the camera.
No matter where she goes or what the topic may be, Kate finds an interesting interview and the people to match it. For most of her life, she’s been passionate about travel. She has always said she is happiest when she’s on a plane traveling to a new city. Naturally curious, she enjoys interacting with people in real settings.
In 2009, her obsession with travel and her love of people led her to develop, produce and co-host, Key To Your City - an online travel show where Kate showed the audience how to find a city’s hidden gems through the people who knew it best…the locals.
In 2010, Kate developed, produced, wrote and hosted Kate’s CouchSurfing – a documentary style travel show, the first episode of which was shot on location in Panama and is in post-production. Currently, Kate is shooting a web-series for her site called, Movers & Shakers.
When not involved in her own projects, Kate enjoys working for various sites as a correspondent. Her interviews range from the light-hearted to hard-hitting, in-depth stories.
Kate’s successful blog, 365 til 30, is chock-full of adventurous tales and insightful thoughts that further reflect Kate’s passion about producing content that unites humanity and shows how truly connected we all are.
In her free time you can find Kate practicing yoga, indulging in Mexican food or sitting on the beach. And, depending on the day and Kate’s mood, that order can change.
